Approach

Being a parent is hard work. There is no other job that

is quite so difficult yet so rewarding at the same time! Parents struggle on a daily basis with being positive when guiding and disciplining

their children. Effective parenting encourages parents to understand ineffective parenting techniques and improve harmony within the family

unit.

When parenting skills are effective there are fewer power struggles, consequences are clear eliminating the

need for punishments and the reasons of “misbehaviors” are understood and easier to manage.

When parents learn how to redirect their

child’s behavior, there is family harmony through understanding. Children are raised in a respectful and peaceful environment. They learn how

to assume responsibility for their own actions and begin to feel empowered from within themselves rather than from external forces. There are

logical consequences for behaviors, as opposed to punishments, which helps to increase self-esteem and cooperation skills. Everyone is a

“winner” when children understand that their parents are not trying to control them but are working to create a more respectful and

cooperative family unit.
